This week news about technology is "the robot lawyers are here - and they're winning." In BBC news about technology I heard that over 100 lawyers in London firms went against an artificial intelligence program called Case Cruncher Alpha. It states "In all, they submitted 775 predictions and the computer won hands down, with Case Cruncher getting an accuracy rate of 86.6%, compared with 66.3% for the lawyers." What this means is that the robots are winning more cases than the humans. Both the humans and robot were given the basic info of payment protection insurance mis-selling cases. The Case Cruncher is the brainchild of four Cambridge law students. They turned something difficult which is the program that could predict the outcome of cases. However, none of the team had any knowledge of computer science except for Ludwig Bull who taught himself.Robot gavel
